County Sheriff’s Rangers Set Spring Ride May 13
The annual spring ride of the San Bernadino County Sheriff’s Rangers, complete with the authentic flavor of the Old West, will get under way in the Yucca Valley – Pioneertown area May 13.
Featuring four fun-filled days, this year’s roundup will be headquartered at Pioneertown rodeo arena with a slate of activities including horse racing, campfire gatherings and music from the days of the early West.
Special arrangements have been made for “cowpokes” unwilling to throw a bedroll on the ground for a night’s snooze. Rooms will be available at the Pioneertown Motel.
“Trail boss” for the event will be Kendall “Mr. Flavor” Stone. Bill “Rowdy” Betterly will act as “ramrod.”
The program will include participation by the Sheriff’s Rangers, a group of riding enthusiasts, in the Yucca Valley Grubstake Days parade, scheduled for May 15.
