Hopalong’s Partner Will Be
Host for Native Sons Fete

Russel (Lucky) Hayden, Hopalong Cassidy’s film partner, will play host to members of Arrowhead parlor, Native Sons of the Golden West, and their families at a week-end party April 21 and 22 at Pioneertown.

Some 500 people are expected to attend the event, according to co-chairmen Ed Alsip and H. Edwin Heil Jr.

Hayden is owner and builder of Pioneertown, a western village near Twentynine Palms. Many of Hollywood’s cowboy films are made at the colorful desert community, Mr. Heil said.

The program will include dancing, horse racing, mule racing a giant barbecue, and riding.

“We are making arrangements for the Pioneertown fiesta to be event of the year,” Mr. Heil declared.

Accommodations are available at Pioneertown for overnight lodging and eating. Two busses and many automobiles will make the two-hour trip to the desert destination. Reservations for the outing can be made by either of the chairmen.
