Steve Quesada Still Leading Golf Challenge

PIONEERTOWN – The Pioneer Pass Golf Challenge reached the end of the eighth checking point on the 35-mile long 19th hole between Pioneertown and Big Bear yesterday afternoon.

That puts the 16 contestants at Valle de Las Vistas cutoff.

Still leading is Steve Quesada of Barstow. Closest to him are Howard Done and F. R. Van Hook of Twentynine Palms; Jimmy Han work of San Bernardino and Paul Compan of Big Bear.

The two women, Dolores Smithsen and Evelyn Betterley, both of Big Bear, are still in the running.

Today the golfers start from Arrastre Creek and will finish off at the Moonridge Golf and Country Club in Big Bear the afternoon.
