Film Group Buys Land for Project

The purchase of 13,000 acres of rolling desert land between Palm Springs and Twenty-Nine Palms for use as a combination studio location site and rendezvous, to be made available to studios, was announced yesterday by a group of film personalities.

Called “Pioneertown,” the real estate project includes plans for complete studio stage and outdoor location work facilities. “The Sons of the Pioneers,” musical group featured in Republic’s Roy Rogers films, an 10 others connected with the film industry, are backing the project.
