Buttram Returns To Autry Films

The Western is now before the camera at Pioneertown, with John English directing since last September when he was seriously injured be the explosion of a cannon during a television filming.

Autry Stars 18th

Gene Autry's 18th picture is "Silver Canyon," a post-Civil War Western, which will be filmed near Pioneertown, California, beginning March 12. The producer is Armand Schaefer, who wrote and produced Aurty's firm movie "Tumblin' Tumbleweeds," in 1934.

LOS COMPADRES TO HIT
TRAIL ON ANNUAL RIDE

As they have every spring for the past 10 years, 20 to 25 members of Los Compadres riding group will hit the trail once again next Sunday for a four-day ride through the desert. The group will trailer their horses to Pioneertown Sunday and camp out in that area until Wednesday night. Chairman of the ride is Hutch Moseley and president of Los Compadres is Del Smith. Many other club members will join the group briefly at various times during the ride.
